How to Develop Unbreakable Inner Strength

In his book, Secrets of the Soul Makers, Daniel Hayes suggests that you can strengthen your inner strength and resilience by recognizing and understanding the following six emotions.

 

One of the most positive aspects of self-help is that you can improve your mental condition with self-help books and suggestions. This gives you the flexibility to take action at any time, anywhere, and in any context. By choosing from a variety of self-help books and reaching out for professional support, you are being proactive, and doing what is best for your personal growth and self-improvement.

 

There is a saying, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”.

 


Identify your feelings and what they mean

All feelings that you have in your mind and body are real. While it is true that your thoughts can influence the physical world, it is also true that your thoughts affect your emotions and physical sensations as well.

 

Identifying your feelings and what they mean helps you figure out how you really feel and helps you take appropriate action.

 

For example, if you are angry, let yourself feel angry for a while and then analyze why you are angry. Do you feel angry because the injustice happened to you? Or is it something else?

 

When you understand what your true feelings are, you are better equipped to analyze them and take appropriate action.

 

It’s also a good idea to journal or journaling apps that automatically categorize your feelings (this is the fifth way to improve mental strength).

As a way to develop mental strength, Chandler suggests practicing meditation. She recommends the relaxed-focused method of meditating, which incorporates relaxation, chanting, and breathing to help you relax and gain clarity on what you want. The relaxed-focused method of meditation involves concentrating on your breath and mindfully observing whatever thoughts come up in your mind.

 

She also recommends meditation as a way to reduce stress and anxiety. When you’re not feeling stressed, you are likely more relaxed and more relaxed people are more resilient to stressful events.
