Blog Digest publishes clear, in-depth guides to money, economics, careers, psychology and well-being, written for readers everywhere. Every guide aims to answer a real question properly: what is actually happening, why it matters to you, and what you can do about it, without hype, jargon or a sales pitch.
What We Cover
We focus on the questions people search for and struggle to get a straight answer to. Our main topics are:
- Personal finance: saving, budgeting, debt, credit scores, insurance, emergency funds, buying a home or a car, and planning for retirement.
- Investing: shares, funds, bonds, gold, IPOs and how to think about risk, explained for ordinary investors rather than professionals.
- Economics: inflation, interest rates, GDP, bond yields, currencies and the economic news that changes what things cost and what your savings earn.
- Cryptocurrency: Bitcoin, stablecoins, crypto tax and safety, with a sober view of both the opportunities and the risks.
- Career and workplace: pay raises, interviews, layoffs, burnout, leadership and how work is changing with artificial intelligence.
- Psychology, relationships and well-being: habits, stress, focus, confidence and the relationships that shape our lives.
- Living abroad: moving countries, pensions and taxes across borders, and comparing life in different places.
Who We Write For
Blog Digest is written for an intelligent general reader in any country. Many money websites assume their readers live in one place and use one currency. We do not. Where rules differ between countries, as they do for taxes, pensions, deposit protection or credit scores, we explain the general principle first and then show how it works in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada, Australia, India and other major economies. Our calculators let you choose your currency, and they adjust to euros or pounds automatically for readers in Europe and the UK.
You do not need any background in finance or economics to read our guides. If you do have one, we hope you will still find something useful: we try to explain the reasoning behind each rule of thumb, not just repeat it.
How Our Guides Are Made
Every guide follows the same standards, which are set out in full in our editorial policy:
- Researched from primary sources. Figures come from official and original sources wherever possible: central banks, national statistics offices, tax authorities, regulators and international organisations such as the IMF, the World Bank and the OECD. Each article links to its main sources in a "Sources" section, so you can check them yourself.
- Dated and kept current. Each guide shows when it was last updated, and data is labelled with the month or year it refers to. When figures change materially, we update the article.
- Quick answer first. Every guide opens with a short answer to the question in its title, followed by the full explanation for readers who want the detail.
- Interactive tools. Most guides include a calculator or interactive diagram, so you can apply the idea to your own numbers rather than someone else's example.
- Plain language. We explain technical terms when we first use them and avoid unnecessary jargon.
Our articles are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools and checked against the sources linked in each article before they are published. We do not invent experts, quotes or credentials, and every article is published under the name Blog Digest.
Free Calculators
Alongside our guides, we publish free calculators that work in your browser and never store or send what you type. They include an emergency fund calculator, a SIP and investment growth calculator, a loan EMI and prepayment calculator, a FIRE retirement calculator, a credit card payoff calculator, and tools inside our guides for comparing a lump sum with a pension, checking a pay raise against inflation, comparing renting with buying, estimating crypto tax on a swap and many more.
Our Independence
Blog Digest is free to read. It is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose our topics, review our articles or influence what we write, and we do not accept payment for coverage. We do not sell financial products, and no article is written to push you towards a particular bank, broker, insurer or app. When we mention a company or product, it is because it helps explain the topic.
A Short History
Blog Digest began in 2021 as a personal blog of essays on life, work, money and the mind. Over time, the questions readers brought to it became more practical: how to manage debt, whether to invest in gold, how an election system works, what a recession means for an ordinary household. In 2026 we rebuilt the site around those questions, rewriting older articles to a much higher standard, adding calculators and interactive diagrams, and publishing new in-depth guides on the money and economic questions that matter most right now.
Our Promise to Readers
We will tell you what the evidence says, even when it is not what you hoped to hear. We will show you where our numbers come from, update them when they change, and correct our mistakes openly. We will never pretend a guess is a certainty, and we will always put your interests ahead of clicks.
Stay Up to Date
You can follow Blog Digest by email: new guides arrive in your inbox when they are published, and you can unsubscribe at any time with one click. You will find the sign-up form on every page.
Important Note
Our guides are for education and general information. They are not personal financial, tax, legal or medical advice, and they cannot take account of your circumstances. Rules and figures change, and they differ between countries. Before making a major decision, check the current rules with the official sources we link to and, where the stakes are high, speak to a qualified, regulated adviser in your country. See our disclaimer and privacy policy for more.
