Free Invoice Generator: No Sign-Up, No Watermark, PDF in Seconds

Quick answer: The free invoice generator below makes a professional invoice, receipt or quote in a couple of minutes, with no account, no watermark and no limit. Add your details and logo, the client, line items and tax, and download a PDF. Your business details stay saved in your browser, and "New invoice" moves to the next number with today's date, so later invoices take seconds. An invoice should show at least a unique number, the date, who it is from and to, what was supplied, the amounts, any tax, and how to pay. The tool lays all of that out for you.

Freelancers and small businesses keep running into the same problem with "free" invoice makers: you fill everything in, then find you need to sign up to download, or the PDF carries the company's logo or a "created with" watermark. Several of the no-signup tools launched in the past two years say they were built for exactly that reason. This one keeps everything on your device, so client names and amounts never sit on someone else's server.

Fill in your details, add line items and tax, then download a clean PDF invoice or receipt. Your business details are remembered in this browser and the invoice number goes up by one each time, so the next invoice takes seconds.

Items

PDF opens your device’s print window: choose “Save as PDF”. Totals are worked out for you; check the tax rate that applies to you.
Everything stays in this browser. No account, no watermark, no limit on how many invoices you make.

What an Invoice Must Include

The rules differ by country, but these items are expected almost everywhere:

  • A unique invoice number that follows on from the last one (INV-0001, INV-0002…).
  • The invoice date and, usually, the date the work was done or the goods supplied.
  • Your name or business name and address, and the customer's name and address.
  • A clear description of each item or service, with quantity, price and line total.
  • The total, and any tax shown separately with its rate.
  • Payment terms and details: the due date and how to pay (bank transfer, UPI, PayPal).

If you are registered for VAT, GST or sales tax, you usually also need your tax registration number on the invoice; add it under your name in the "From" box. In the UK, for example, a VAT invoice must show your VAT number and the VAT amount for each rate. Limited companies often need to show the company's registered name and number. Check your tax office's rules for your country.

Tips to Get Paid Faster

  • Send it the day the work is done. The sooner the invoice arrives, the sooner the payment clock starts.
  • Use a short, specific due date ("Due 8 November") rather than just "30 days".
  • Make paying easy: put the full bank details, UPI ID or payment link on the invoice.
  • Describe the work in the client's words ("Logo design for the spring campaign"), so their accounts team can approve it without asking.
  • Quote the client's purchase order number if they gave you one; many companies won't pay without it.
  • Follow up politely on the due date with the invoice attached again.

Keeping Records

Tax offices expect you to keep copies of every invoice and receipt you issue, usually for several years (the IRS generally asks for at least three years of records, and many countries require five to seven). Save each PDF in a folder by year, and use "Items as CSV" to copy the lines into a spreadsheet. Because invoices are made in your browser, keep your own copies: nothing is stored online.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this invoice generator free without a watermark?

Yes. There is no sign-up, watermark, logo of ours or limit on the number of invoices. You can add your own logo and colour.

How do I save the invoice as a PDF?

Press "Download PDF" and choose "Save as PDF" in the print window that opens. On iPhone, use Share and then Save to Files; on Android, pick "Save as PDF" as the printer.

Can I make a receipt instead of an invoice?

Yes. Choose "Receipt (paid)" at the top. The document gets a PAID stamp and shows the total paid instead of a due date.

Does it work out tax and discounts?

Yes. Enter the tax name and rate (sales tax, VAT or GST) and any discount, and the subtotal, tax and total are calculated for you. Check which rate applies to your business and customer.

Where are my details stored?

Only in this browser, so the next invoice is pre-filled. Nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser data removes them.
